The Defenders #117
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis March 1983 issue puts the Defenders front and center in a striking pink-and-magenta burst of energy, with a costumed figure laid out in apparent agony at the scene's heart as multiple ghostly faces radiate outward from him in every direction. Doctor Strange, a bestial orange figure, a yellow-and-blue costumed heroine, and a blonde warrior woman in a dark cape converge around him, while additional team members — including a masked figure and a blonde woman — look on from the corner inset. Cover artists Don Perlin and Jack Abel pack the composition with urgency and strange psychic menace that makes "The Gift" feel anything but a pleasant offering. A vivid snapshot of the non-team at their most wonderfully weird.
