The Darkness #20
In "Hell House, Part 4," Ivan Petrovich and his men arrive at the Grand Lux Hotel to confront Jackie over the death of his daughter, Alex—only for Lori to intervene with a gunshot. As tensions peak, Mickey returns with a chilling revelation: Lori is a manifestation of Jackie’s darker impulses, just as Mickey himself is a reflection of Jackie’s better self. With the truth hanging in the air, Jackie absorbs Lori and steps into the sunlight, leaving one final question unanswered—was any of it real? Written by David Lapham and illustrated by John Lucas, William Walden, and a team of inkers, this pivotal issue delivers a haunting, emotionally charged chapter in the series, with a striking cover by Dale Keown.

Ivan Petrovich and his men arrive at the hotel to settle things with Jackie over the death of his daughter, Alex, but Lori shoots him before he can tell Jackie he didn’t kill Lori’s son and mother. Then Mickey returns to tell Jackie that just as he is made from Jackie’s better nature, Lori is made from Jackie’s baser desires. Jackie reabsorbs Lori, and heads out of the Grand Lux into the sun, but one question still remains; was this all just a dream?
