Chan has agreed to offer his ships to Elmus of the Sky Patrol, but he's surreptitiously planning to take over with Mephistos. Rod's party enters the City of the Living Dead to try to use the Unicor who was turned into a living skeleton to convince the other living skeletons of the party's miraculous influence. Rod banks on the idea that the water that turned the Unicor into a skeleton will wear off, which it does so to the amazement of the dwellers in the City of the Living Dead. To find safe drinking water, Rod follows a pack of wild dogs. He fights off the alpha dog and finds a water source.
