Issue four of Impact Comics' The Comet pulls no punches — literally — as the cover depicts the Black Hood grabbing the Comet by the collar while a glowing, energy-charged fist cocks back for what looks like a devastating blow. The struggle between the two costumed figures crackles with tension, rendered with sharp, dynamic linework by cover artist Tom Lyle. With Mark Waid and Tom Lyle also handling the interior story "Family Matters," this 1991 DC/Impact title is shaping up to be a compelling corner of the early-'90s superhero landscape.
