The Brave and the Bold #96
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis July 1971 team-up from DC's The Brave and the Bold pairs the Dark Knight with war veteran Sgt. Rock in a story titled "The Striped Pants War!" — and the cover wastes no time raising the stakes. Nick Cardy and Murphy Anderson's cover depicts a tense confrontation at the gates of the United States of America Embassy, where Batman recoils in apparent shock as a grim-faced Sgt. Rock stands armed on the other side of the iron bars, Batman's speech balloon delivering the accusation: "Rock--?! And we trusted you... YOU TRAITOR!" Written by Bob Haney with art by Nick Cardy, this is the kind of charged, politically tinged adventure that made Brave and the Bold one of DC's most entertaining anthology series of the era.
