About this Collection

This volume gathers some of the most celebrated stories from the legendary creative partnership of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, spanning their groundbreaking work across multiple genres and publishers. It includes classic tales featuring their patriotic hero Fighting American, the crime-fighting reporter Johnny Flagg, and the youthful adventurer Speedboy, showcasing the dynamic storytelling and bold artwork that defined the duo's influential career.

A mysterious triangular meteor crashes into a space station, sparking curiosity and caution among the crew. When Captain Kelly opens it, a walnut-shaped object is revealed—leading to a series of strange beeps and explosions that culminate in a shocking encounter with a space creature clinging to an old Sputnik satellite. The walnut and the creature reunite, then vanish into the sky aboard the meteor, leaving behind more questions than answers. This story, written and illustrated by Jack Kirby with inks by Marvin Stein and letters by Joe Rosen and Artie Simek, features a striking cover by Kirby, capturing the cosmic mystery in bold, dynamic lines.
