The Batman Adventures #6
Styled in the clean, bold lines of the hit Fox animated series, this 1993 issue presents a genuinely tense cover: Batman bursts through a red door while a shadowy, masked gunman looms over him from behind, pistol raised and grasping hand outstretched in a supremely threatening pose. The composition — moon overhead, the Dark Knight caught mid-motion between two doors — perfectly captures the suspense promised by the story title "The Third Door." Kelley Puckett writes, with Brad Rader on interior art and Rick Burchett handling both pencils and inks on this striking cover.
