A mysterious red-caped figure looms menacingly over a downed Robin, golden staff in hand, while a struggling man bearing what appears to be explosives is caught in the confrontation — it's a tense standoff rendered in the sharp, animated style that made Batman Adventures such a treat in 1995. The story is titled "Anarky," and the cover by Dev Madan and Rick Burchett does an excellent job building dread without Batman anywhere in sight. Grant, Madan, and Burchett deliver the kind of sleek, purposeful storytelling that made this series a genuine highlight of DC's output.
