About this Collection

This third volume of Gemstone's Barks/Rosa Collection pairs two classic Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge adventures by Carl Barks: 'The Golden Helmet' and 'The Lost Charts of Columbus.' In these tales, the Ducks—including Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Launchpad McQuack—clash with rivals like Flintheart Glomgold and the pirate ghost Azure Blue over legendary treasures. The collection showcases Barks' signature blend of high-seas adventure, historical lore, and sharp humor.

In "The Golden Helmet," Carl Barks delivers a classic adventure as Donald Duck, a museum curator, and even one of Donald's nephews join forces with Azure Blue, a Viking descendant, in a race across Labrador to recover a legendary golden helmet. With Barks handling every aspect of the art and storytelling—pencils, inks, colors, and letters—this 2008 Gemstone collection issue brims with the timeless charm and clever plotting that define his best work, all wrapped in a cover by Barks himself.
