The cover of this April 1966 issue plunges the reader straight into oceanic chaos — the Scarlet Witch and Captain America are shown fighting through churning floodwaters, shield raised and sword in hand, while massive tentacles and a crowd of menacing aquatic creatures close in around them. A circular inset above shows Quicksilver and Hawkeye in what appears to be a pressurized vessel, suggesting the team is split across this watery battleground. Jack Kirby's pencils, inked by Don Heck and Frank Giacoia, give the whole scene a terrific sense of motion and scale, perfectly suiting Stan Lee's dramatic story title, "Four Against the Floodtide!
