Spider-Woman's ally, Magnus, had previously transported their astral forms to sixth century England to battle Morgan le Fay. But, upon defeating le Fay, Spider-Woman was unable to return to her physical form and was stuck on the astral plane. Magnus had cast a spell making everyone forget Spider-Woman and Jessica Drew. But the spell was faulty and her friends began to remember her. Aided by Dr. Strange, Spider-Woman attempts to return to her physical body from the astral plane but is stopped by le Fay who was hiding on the astral plane and seeks to use Spider-Woman's body for herself.
