“Better Red than Ronin!”

In "Better Red than Ronin!", the Avengers face a terrifying new threat when the massive, rogue automaton Red Ronin crashes into New York City. With S.H.I.E.L.D. scrambling aboard the vintage Behemoth helicarrier and the team’s usual tactics failing, Nick Fury devises a desperate plan to turn the robot’s own power against it—only to find that the machine has taken on a will of its own. George Pérez’s dynamic art brings the clash to life, with Terry Austin’s cover capturing the full scale of the chaos.

Red Ronin comes to New York City. This causes not only the Avengers to arrive on the scene but also S.H.I.E.L.D. led by Nick Fury aboard the old Behemoth helicarrier from the days when S.H.I.E.L.D. was trying to contain Godzilla. The Behemoth, Captain America, and Iron Man's attacks prove ineffective. Fury decides to feed the Behemoth's power to Iron Man and have him electrify the waters of the Hudson where Red Ronin is standing. It works and knocks the robot out. However since the pilot Dr. Cowan is unconscious, the robot revives and begins to act on its own and continues its rampage.
