The Authority #27

The Authority assembles in force on this December 2010 WildStorm cover, penciled by Dave Gibbons and inked by Kevin Nowlan — a sprawling ensemble of winged, cybernetic, and combat-ready figures surging forward against a backdrop of fire and crumbling brick. Front and center, a grim man in black tactical gear leads the charge, flanked by a heavily armed soldier bearing a cross-marked forehead and a masked gunwoman, while towering superhuman figures — including a blue-skinned figure in a sweeping cloak and a metallic woman with an ethereal presence — loom behind them. Tom Taylor and Al Barrionuevo bring "Slaughter Moon" to life inside, and if this cover is any measure, the full team is mobilized for something that demands every last one of them.
