“The Anti-Bikini Meanie!”

From DC's long-running comedy series comes this 1966 gem featuring Bob Hope and a red-haired companion surfing atop a very surprised-looking shark — their banter about losing and finding something playing out in classic comic-strip speech bubbles as a colorful surfboard trails behind them. Bob Oksner's cover art is pure sun-soaked slapstick, perfectly setting the stage for "The Anti-Bikini Meanie!" and the Benedict Arnold High gang's beach battle. The side panel teases a wild supporting cast including Super-Hip, the vampire principal Dr. Van Pyre, Coach Frank N. Stein, and Prof. Von Wolfman — making this one of the more delightfully eccentric corners of the DC universe in 1966.
