☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIn "The Good Old Daze," Sampson worries that Samantha’s too soft on the quiet, unassuming Bingo—so he pushes her to try boys with more muscle and attitude. The results are… well, let’s just say the house isn’t the same after she does. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Stan Goldberg, with inks by Mario Acquaviva, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Bill Yoshida, this 1973 Archie classic features a cover by Stan Goldberg and Jon D'Agostino.
Mr. Smythe, exasperated by 1973 prices, stumbles into an "Old Tyme Fair" where everything—from a lemonade stand to a penny whistle—costs a fraction of what it does today. The nostalgic charm of the event quickly turns into a slippery slope of temptation, as he’s tempted to spend his hard-earned cash on relics of a simpler time.
In "The Rivals," Mr. Smythe finds himself at odds with Bingo over the affections of his young daughter, Samantha, leading to a comedic clash of wills that escalates when he banishes Bingo from the house—only to face the unexpected consequence of Samantha going on a stubborn food strike.
In "Muscle Bound," Bingo's sudden surge of strength leaves the Smythes baffled and outmatched—barbells that once seemed impossible to lift now fly with ease. But as his power grows, a nagging question lingers: is this newfound might real, or just a wild dream playing out in his mind?
Tony and Turk find themselves caught in a whirlwind of mistaken romance when Sampson pushes Samantha to date more "aggressive" types—leading to a chaotic afternoon where her new admirers nearly demolish the house in their over-the-top pursuit of her attention.
In this playful 1973 tale from *That Wilkin Boy* #24, the ever-scheming Dimples Delush sets her sights on winning Bingo away from Samantha, using her usual mix of charm and mischief—only to have her plans derailed in the most awkward way by the unintentional interference of Mr. Smythe.
