Thanos #8

Thanos looms enormous and bellowing above a tense gathering of figures on Mike Deodato Jr.'s striking cover — a wild-maned red-haired warrior, a dark-haired woman with geometric face markings, a brooding man, and at the bottom a glowing armored figure crackling with white energy lightning. Writer Jeff Lemire and artist Germán Peralta's 2017 run continues to deliver cosmic-scale drama, with colorist Rachelle Rosenberg's fiery orange-and-red atmosphere giving the whole composition a sense of mounting dread. If you've been following this series, issue #8 looks poised to raise the stakes considerably.
