The second story, "Texas Rangers in Action," involves rumors that Wild Bill's courage has declined, prompting a marshal to challenge him; the tale reveals Bill's character through his confrontation with outlaws and a herd of dangerous bulls. When the outlaws take hostages, Jubal must track them down, and after a gunfight in town, he corners the gang and forces their surrender, earning the respect of the townspeople.
