This issue contains two Tex Ritter stories. In "Staged Raid," two hold-up men work together to rob a stagecoach carrying gold, but Tex Ritter outsmarts them with a hidden ace in the hole during the second attempt. In "Lawmen Can't Quit," with Lucky Briggs in jail and the rest of a gang in hiding, Tex Ritter poses as a badge-wearing outlaw to infiltrate the criminals and bring them to justice, ultimately convincing the reluctant gang members to surrender rather than continue their lawless ways.

When Tex Ritter rolls into booming Clareville—transformed overnight by a copper strike—he finds the town caught between the old guard who want law and order and a ruthless schemer named Lew Ackers who's using his newspaper, the Clarion, to stir up the miners and consolidate power before the upcoming election. Tex determines to stop Ackers' manipulation, and when words won't work, his Colts settle the score.

The Quiet Stranger
5 pp · Western-Frontier

A quiet drifter arrives in Mustang Flats hoping for a fresh start, but the town is terrorized by Faver's gang—and they've got other plans for the stranger. When a series of confrontations force Sam Byers to buckle his guns back on, he learns that Seth Dawes lured him to town for a reason: the townspeople need someone willing to stand against Faver and reclaim their home. It's a western where a man trying to leave violence behind discovers he might be exactly what a desperate town needs.
