“Evil Rides the Skies”

In "Evil Rides the Skies," Mighty Mouse blends in at a Halloween party disguised as an ordinary mouse, enjoying a rare moment of anonymity. But when a Witch-Cat arrives with a sinister plan and a strength-sapping poison apple, the disguise is no protection—she knows exactly who he is. Art Bartsch handles both the interior art and the cover, bringing the spooky, playful tension of this 1947 St. John classic to life.

Mighty Mouse attends a mouse Halloween party in disguise because "It's fun to be an ordinary mouse for a while [and] no one will know who I am." A Witch-Cat plans to disrupt the party and make off with the mice. In a twist to the many stories where Mighty Mouse is disguised and reveals his identity when trouble begins, the Witch-Cat knows that this one particular costumed mouse is really Mighty Mouse and comes prepared with a strength-sapping poison apple.
