The second chapter of Dean Motter and Michael Lark's noir-drenched Vertigo series arrives with a cover by Mark Chiarello that sets the mood perfectly: a trench-coated, hat-wearing figure descends a staircase through swirling red-tinged fog, pistol in hand, rendered in a moody palette of deep crimson and shadow. It's a striking image that captures Terminal City's retro-futurist atmosphere with the cool economy of a 1940s movie poster.
