Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #15
Three of the Turtles charge forward through a grimy, pipe-lined sewer environment, weapons at the ready, while a heavily cybernetic, mechanically augmented turtle looms large in the foreground — a striking visual contrast between the organic and the machine. The gritty, industrial atmosphere Image Comics brought to this series is on full display in this May 1998 issue, with the cybernetic figure's menacing grin and red eye implant making for a genuinely unsettling cover presence. At $2.95, this was a bold chapter in the darker, harder-edged take on these beloved characters.
