This issue contains two stories. "Dear John" follows a young woman whose boyfriend is deployed to Vietnam with his brother Don; at the airport, she cannot bring herself to say goodbye, haunted by the fear she will never find anyone to replace him. "Miser's Money" tells of a nineteen-year-old girl named Helen who meets Officer Jeff Howards and becomes determined to marry him, but when she discovers he is willing to help recover stolen money from a robbery, she manipulates him into a scheme to keep the $3,000 reward for herself, only to have her deception expose her true nature when he learns the truth about her selfishness.
