This first chapter of Team 7: Dead Reckoning — "Part One: Don't Look Back" — arrives from Image in 1996 with a cover by Michael Golden that wastes no time setting the tone: a squad of hard-edged soldiers in combat gear pile into a frantic, close-quarters struggle, weapons raised and faces twisted with desperate intensity, while a massive, ominous mechanical or monstrous visage looms in purple shadow behind them. Writer Chuck Dixon teams with artist Jason Johnson and inker Tom McWeeney to bring this black-ops unit to life, and Golden's cover composition — all churning bodies and barely-contained chaos — makes it immediately clear this series isn't pulling any punches.
