Tarzan perches atop an ornate stone column high above a sprawling cityscape, bow in hand and looking every bit the jungle lord out of his element — it's a striking image that sets up "The Modern Prometheus" with real mythic weight. Mike Kaluta's cover art captures the tension beautifully, Burroughs' famous ape-man rendered against a brooding crimson sky while the urban world stretches far below him. Part one of two, this 1997 Dark Horse issue promises an intriguing collision between Tarzan's untamed nature and the modern world.
