"The Vanished Clue" follows Detective Richard Manning as he investigates a case involving a man named Link Braden, a horse player with gambling debts suspected of involvement in criminal activity. When Braden appears to be framed and Manning discovers the real culprits are two racketeers named Tony and Ralph operating an extortion scheme, the detectives pursue them in a climactic chase that ends with the criminals' store being destroyed in an explosion.
