Tales of Suspense #86

This February 1967 Marvel double-feature puts both Iron Man and Captain America under one cover, and Jack Kirby and Frank Giacoia deliver a cover that earns the book's own boast of being "quite possibly the very greatest action issue of the year." Captain America dominates the foreground, shield in hand, fighting his way through a wave of armed soldiers bearing red-star insignia while a heavily armed tank looms in the background. Stan Lee, Gene Colan, and Frank Giacoia handle the interior — which promises plenty of drama with a story titled "Death Duel for the Life of Happy Hogan" — making this a full package of mid-1960s Marvel at its most energetic.
