“The Maestro's Hand!”

In "The Maestro's Hand!", a greedy embezzler gambles everything on a deadly scheme, setting a suitcase bomb to go off during his boss’s flight—only to find his own fate tied to the detonation. Written, drawn, and inked by Johnny Craig, with vibrant colors by Marie Severin and sharp lettering by Jim Wroten, this 1991 tale from Tales from the Crypt delivers a chilling twist of irony in a story as sharp as its cover, illustrated by Craig himself.

A man living high on the hog by embezzling from his boss realizes he is close to getting caught. So, he surreptitiously gives his boss a suitcase of explosives to take with him on his upcoming flight, with a timer set to detonate over the desert. To confirm the explosion occurs, the crook drives out to the desert to watch. Fittingly, the crashing plane lands right on top of him.
