“Telescope”

"Telescope" delivers a chilling twist on marital tension in this 1991 Tales from the Crypt entry, where a man’s desperate plea for relief from his wife’s anger leads him to a mysterious stranger named Mr. Biddy. Written by Al Feldstein and brought to life with sharp, eerie art by Jack Davis—both interior and on the cover—this story unfolds with a slow-burn dread that lingers long after the final panel. The cover by Jack Davis perfectly captures the tale’s unsettling tone, making it a standout in the series.

After a fight with his wife, Archie goes for a walk in the park. He meets a strange man named Mr. Biddy, who seems to understand Archie's problems and volunteers to kill Archie's wife. After the murder, the police arrest Archie, but he protests that Mr. Biddy did the killing. In a roundabout way, the police finally believe him. Sort of.
