This issue contains multiple stories. "The Happiness and Heartbreak of Vicki Carter" (Chapter VIII: "The Fight for Life") follows nurse Vicki Carter as she tends to Dr. Paul Andrus, a young scientist recovering from an atomic pile accident in a desert town; as Paul slowly improves, their emotional bond deepens despite the challenges ahead. "My Other Self" tells of identical twin sisters Joan and Janet who were separated in childhood; Joan became a teacher, while Janet pursued her own path, and they meet again years later when Mark, who is attracted to Janet, encounters Joan at her school. The issue also includes a story involving a woman named Charley who has gone to Chicago, leaving behind drawings and designs, and her associate must complete them while managing office work and dealing with the consequences of Charley's absence on his own job prospects.
