Charlton's Sweethearts #78 serves up a deliciously tangled romantic triangle right on its cover, penciled and inked by Dick Giordano: a young woman shares a close moment with a young man in a sailboat, while a thought bubble reveals she's very aware that a second young man — visible rowing a boat nearby — is watching the whole scene unfold. The inset panel above adds another layer, showing what appears to be a separate passionate kiss accompanied by dialogue questioning whether kisses can truly reveal someone's feelings. "Stormy Love" promises exactly what the title suggests — romance with a few choppy waves — making this 1964 Charlton gem a fine example of the era's heartfelt, drama-packed romance comics.
