This issue contains two stories. "Little White Lie" follows Joan, who deceives her mother by claiming to be waiting for an important phone call while actually waiting for her boyfriend Tom to call. When Tom finally calls and invites her to elope, Joan initially accepts but ultimately decides against it, realizing she cannot build their future on a foundation of lies and deception. In the second story, a man named Frank recalls a skiing accident in which his friend Charley fell and was injured; Charley later dies, and Frank is tormented by guilt, believing Charley's death and the revelation of secrets will destroy his relationship with Sheila unless he confesses the truth.
