“Shattered Dream”

In "Shattered Dream," lawyer Ray returns home from military service to reunite with his sweetheart Sally—only to find his time consumed by a demanding new client, wealthy widow Jane. As Sally leaves town to help her family on the farm, distance and misunderstandings strain their relationship, leading to a painful breakup. The emotional core of the story unfolds with quiet intensity, capturing the fragile hopes and quiet heartbreaks of young love tested by duty and circumstance. Written by Joe Gill and illustrated by Charles Nicholas, with inks by Vince Alascia and lettering by Jon D'Agostino, the issue’s poignant tone is matched by Dick Giordano’s evocative cover art.
