Missouri tells John Winchester that he needs to leave town and talk to Fletcher Gable. John finds him in Arizona and he tells him that the tooth he has is from a hellhound. Fletcher gives John the notebook he later keeps all of his information in and tells him that if he writes everything down it will help him stay focused. John goes out to hunt down the hellhound but is surprised by Mary's brother Jacob. He is there to take the boys home but John convinces him to go to the graveyard with him. A hellhound attacks Jacob there and almost kills him. A hunter shows up to help John and tells him it is too late to help Jacob. John wants to take Jacob to a hospital but the hunter convinces him that he would be better off dead and that John would be better off without any more problems following him so John puts Jacob in his car and sends it off the cliff and into the water. The hunter says he will stick around and help John for a little while.
