Superman / Wonder Woman #9

Part of the sprawling "Superman Doomed" crossover event, this New 52 issue drops us into "Enemy of the State" chapter two with a cover that says everything about the stakes. Tony Daniel's artwork depicts a monstrous, Doomsday-fused Superman looming over Earth, firing heat vision as Wonder Woman — lasso drawn — and a red-suited Supergirl brace themselves against the threat above them. Charles Soule and Daniel make a formidable creative team for this high-tension chapter of one of 2014's most ambitious DC storylines.
