This November 1991 issue of Superman: The Man of Steel delivers a genuinely unsettling cover by Jon Bogdanove and Dennis Janke, depicting a skull-faced villain — the Atomic Skull — grappling with a vulnerable, red-caped Superman while a spiraling film strip winds around them both, its frames filled with eerie black-and-white vignettes of the villain in action.
