As the Kents travel across the country, they find that a mystical force is preventing Superman from entering Fawcett City. When Captain Marvel investigates reports of Superman, a mysterious being causes the two heroes to see the other as his enemy. But Pa convinces Superman that he isn't really fighting the Cyborg-Superman, and Captain Marvel doubts he is really fighting Black Adam. When Captain Marvel calls down his magic lightning to see if he is being deceived, the lightning mixes with the mystic barrier and creates a magical entity that the two heroes work together to dissipate.
