Superman: Space Age #1
In *Superman: Space Age #1* (2022), writer Mark Russell and artist Michael Allred launch a fresh take on Superman’s origin with a grounded, character-driven story set in a 1960s alternate Earth. As Clark Kent grapples with his place in a world on the brink, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and rising Cold War tensions bring Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor into a dangerous game of influence. When Clark encounters the mysterious Pariah, who warns of Earth’s impending doom, the stage is set for a story where ideals, ambition, and the weight of the future collide. The vibrant, stylized art by Michael Allred—pencils and inks—and dynamic colors by Laura Allred bring this alternate history to life, while Dave Sharpe’s lettering keeps the narrative sharp. The cover, also by Michael Allred, captures the era’s mood with striking visual flair.
