Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #162
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis January 1973 issue serves up one of the more delightfully mind-bending covers Nick Cardy ever put together: a swirling filmstrip loop shows Superman repeatedly ducking into a telephone booth and emerging as — Jimmy Olsen, whose startled face stares back at his own reflection in a cascade of repeated images. The cover caption says it all: "Superman changed to his secret identity and… it's… ME?!" It's a wonderfully weird visual puzzle that captures exactly the kind of imaginative Silver-into-Bronze Age storytelling that made this series such a fan favorite.
