Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #107
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThere's something wonderfully absurd about this 1967 DC cover by Curt Swan and George Klein — Superman, in full cape and costume, is out on the street wielding a giant push broom and sweeping up litter while a tour guide with a megaphone presents him to a busload of sightseers like a carnival attraction. A speech bubble cheerfully announces, "Superman used to clean up gangs… now he cleans up garbage!" — and the Superman-branded garbage truck parked nearby suggests this humbling situation is entirely official. Inside, writer Richard Hughes and artist Pete Costanza deliver "The Rise and Fall of Superman!", and this cover promises that story will be every bit as entertaining as it sounds.
