Luthor brings down Brainiac's ship by expanding a bottled city within it. While the Legion and Mon-El rescue the remaining cities, Brainiac takes his revenge against Luthor, but discovers he never really knew his ally. Superman prevents Zod from finishing off a now-powerless Brainiac, and Brainiac 5 spirits his ancestor away, but citing the aid of Luthor in Brainiac's attack, Zod rallies his people for war against Earth.
