Superman / Batman #59

A heavily armored Batman lunges forward in the foreground, claws extended and teeth bared, while Superman surges behind him in a blur of red and blue — and in the swirling, surreal background, a giant face looms amid what appears to be a chaotic microscopic world teeming with tiny figures and strange machinery. It's a fittingly intense visual send-off for "Nanopolis, Conclusion," suggesting the World's Finest have pushed through something genuinely strange to reach this moment. Whilce Portacio and Richard Friend bring real kinetic energy to the cover of this 2009 DC issue, with the dynamic duo looking like they've earned every scratch along the way.
