Superman / Batman #30
Part three of "The Enemies Among Us" arrives with a cover by Ethan Van Sciver that sets an unsettling, rural tone: an older man in a wide-brimmed hat looms at center, wide-eyed with apparent terror, while a young woman stands shaken behind him against a backdrop of burning fields. Below them, a prone Superman — his iconic chest symbol clearly visible — is menaced by grasping, monstrous hands reaching in from the edges of the frame. Mark Verheiden and Van Sciver craft a scene that feels less like superhero spectacle and more like a creeping nightmare descending on ordinary people, with the Man of Steel himself looking dangerously vulnerable.
