Superman Adventures #57

Superman battles a massive, snarling brute high above a Metropolis rail station, debris exploding around them as panicked bystanders below scramble for cover — it's a wonderfully kinetic cover by penciler Mike Manley and inker Terry Austin that captures the animated-series charm of this series at full tilt. The tagline "Look Out Below…!" says it all, with chunks of concrete raining down on construction workers and civilians who have no idea a super-powered slugfest is unfolding just overhead. Writer Dan Slott and artist Cameron Stewart bring "4 Point Perspective" to life inside, and this 2001 issue is a fine example of Superman Adventures delivering big, fun action in an all-ages package.
