In "The Unity Saga Pt 5," Zod’s dream of rebuilding Krypton on the planet Jekuul shatters when Rogol Zaar brutally slaughters the last Kryptonian survivors. Waking from the vision, Zod returns to Earth—growing to full size after his time in the Phantom Zone—and immediately sets out to hunt Zaar, enlisting the Atom to use the Phantom Zone Projector to send him into the Zone. Meanwhile, Superman confronts Zaar and the other inmates of the Phantom Zone in a battle that tests both his resolve and his strength. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Ivan Reis, with colors by Alex Sinclair and inks by Joe Prado, the issue’s cover by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado captures the moment of Zod’s return with striking intensity.

Zod has a vision of uniting the last surviving families of Krypton on the planet Jekuul, which will be christened New Krypton. The vision takes a turn for the worse when Rogol Zaar appears and slaughters the last Kryptonians. Zod awakens from the vision and heads to Earth the track down Zaar. He arrives as a shrunken Earth returns from the Phantom Zone and grows to its normal size. Zod then has the Atom use the Phantom Zone Projector to send him to the Zone. Meanwhile, in the Phantom Zone, Superman faces Zaar and the Phantom Zone villains.
