Superman #45
Superman #45 (March–April 1947) presents a striking cover by Jack Burnley and George Roussos that immediately raises questions: the Man of Steel is down on the ground, reaching upward in apparent weakness, while two robed figures stand over him against a backdrop featuring a vivid red pagoda. It's a rare and arresting sight to see Superman so vulnerable, and the tension on that yellow sky makes the image hard to look away from. Inside, Jerry Siegel and John Sikela (inked by Roussos) bring readers the intriguingly titled "Lois Lane, Superwoman!" — a story that promises plenty of surprises for fans of both Superman and his fellow Daily Planet reporter.
