Superman swoops dramatically toward two startled criminals on a rooftop, while one of them gasps, "That shadow — it's the Batman!" only for his partner to correct him: "No — it's Superman! I think!" — a perfectly playful exchange that sets up the mystery teased in the story title "The Mystery of the Super-Batman!" Eduardo Barreto's cover pencils and inks capture a wonderful tension between the Dark Knight's looming shadow and the Man of Steel's unmistakable red-and-blue figure, blending Gotham menace with Metropolis heroism. This March 1985 issue is a fun slice of the era when DC loved to blur the lines between its two greatest heroes.
