Superman #336 brings back the split-personality villain Rose and the Thorn in a cover that crackles with tension — Ross Andru and Bob Oksner depict the Man of Steel grabbing a fiercely resistant Thorn mid-action, her protest clear in the dialogue balloon, while motorcycle sidecar bandits close in fast from behind. It's a genuinely compelling setup: a hero trying to protect someone who very much doesn't want his help, with real danger bearing down on both of them. Len Wein scripts the interior, with Curt Swan on art — a strong creative lineup for this June 1979 issue.
