“Duel of the Diamond Demons!”

In "Duel of the Diamond Demons!", Clark Kent is tasked with documenting Perry White’s final assignment at the Daily Planet after Morgan Edge announces his impending retirement at 65. With the help of the newsroom staff, Clark and Perry pursue Zack Dawson, a recently released convict, in a race to recover stolen diamonds and bring the criminal to justice. Written by Martin Pasko and illustrated by Curt Swan with inks by Tex Blaisdell, this 1974 classic features a heartfelt moment of solidarity when the Planet staff rallies to keep Perry on the job. The cover, a striking portrait by Nick Cardy, captures the tension of the moment.
