Supergirl Plus #1

This 1997 DC one-shot brings together two of comics' most compelling heroines, with a cover by penciler Gary Frank and inker Cam Smith showing Supergirl and Mary Marvel — she in her red-and-gold lightning-bolt costume — surging forward through a star-filled sky with fierce, determined expressions. The pairing of writer Peter David with artists Mike Manley and Bret Blevins promises a story ("Perceptions") with real emotional weight behind the action. It's a satisfying team-up package that fans of either character will find hard to pass up.
