Supergirl #63

Part of DC's 2001 "Joker: Last Laugh" crossover event, this issue pairs Supergirl and Batgirl against a threat literally looming over them — the Joker's enormous, grinning face dominates the background while a Jokerized Supergirl, wild-haired and snarling in her dark costume, charges forward alongside a cape-whipping Supergirl and a battle-ready Batgirl. Jim Lee's cover crackles with kinetic energy, capturing the unsettling sight of a hero turned against her allies. With Peter David writing and Leonard Kirk on interior art, "The Best Medicine" promises a story as tense as its striking cover suggests.
